For me:

1, Wake Up - RATM
2, Rock me baby - Hendrix
3, Highway to Hell - AC/DC
4, Shallow be thy game - RHCP
5, Doomsday clock - Smashing Pumpkins

Controversial, but there are millions that I love - including Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" or "I'm a man".....to Eric Claptons "Bad Love" or Cream's "Spoonful"

Back in black - has a good hill-climbing tempo.

Nice one Brun. I always save the james lavelle mix of QOTSA No One Knows, off the global underground mix for the hard bit of my local loop!

Shoot the runner (Kasabian) - I'm down with the kids
Welcome to the jungle (GNR) - Scalping music

Going to stop there, just too damn many!
    Great thread BTW!

  • I'd be here all day trying to sort of out my top five, so I'll throw in the Damned's New Rose; you'd go a long way to beat that bass intro......

Stargazer by Rainbow always brings a smile when it randomly appears, as does A Touch Too Much [ACDC], Ummm... Girls In Their Summer Clothes, Going For the One by Yes, but perennial favourite is We Will Rock You, the version put together for John Peel's show way back when in 1977. Magnificent.

70s mate. We had the lot - cheesy pop, serious pop, glam, metal, prog, discotheque music, and then punk. Add Teenage Kicks to my list. And Anarchy In The UK. and... drones on & on, cont p94....

    :)

    Chris Rea "road to hell"

Run to the Hills- Iron Maiden is a current favourite (as is Running up that Hill - Kate Bush, I think I am getting slightly obsessed with big hills at the moment  )

    Even Flow - Pearl Jam
Machinehead - Bush (very appropriate for the opening lyrics)
Rifles - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Sympton of the Universe - Black Sabbath

I did put question marks around the song to be fair - but I'm much too short of oxygen going along and worried about jaywalking ped's to fret about lyrics and a part of the appeal is when it came out - exams being over
