Question re switching saddles
Hi,
I've been cycling about 6months now, I've had my bike properly fitted and am happy with my position, but my current saddle (Selle Italia Max Flite) isn't getting on well with my bum after about 1hr30 of riding.
I've got a Selle Italia SLR XP to try out but I'm not sure how to best fit it. I guess I want to keep the geometry re saddle height, reach, setback from BB etc. as close as as I can to the old saddle, but the SLR is 15mm shorter plus the rails are also much shorter than the Max Flite.
Should I try to match the reach, setback etc. of the old saddle, as this will mean that my bum will be a little bit further forward than before? Or is it better to try to get the SLR kind of in the middle of the old saddles position?
I don't think I'm explaining this very well! It's probably best to go ask at my LBS, but if anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

I guess just work out where your sit bones go on each and keep that in the same position when switching.0

I've used both those saddles - and the XP is definitely lower down - which means you'll have to raise your seatpost a bit to compensate.
Only way to be exactly sure is to measure everything before and after and like you say - try and mimic the heights and positions. Unfortunately - some of it will be trial and error until you get it right.
If you get the back of the saddle in the same position on both then you should be OK - as the Flite is longer in the front.0
