help please, jumping chain and cracking noise

Heres the problem i have a Gt i-drive xcr 5 that has about 1500 miles on it and now when i am peadaling hard there is a lowd rythmic snapping sound comming from the front mesh area. Also the chain keeps slipping between the large gears and jamming the chain during gear changing. please help me

You need to reset the cable tension/reset the nechs.

yes it was back about a month ago for a service, and i tried to reset the cable tension but it didn't work but i could heave being doing it wrong.0

the chain seemes fine and its been greased up.0

Have you checked how much it has stretched ? Do you have a wear indicator ?0

no, i havent checked the strech in the chain. do you mean there is an indicator on the chain or is a tool for checking wear0

You can buy em in Halfords etc.
.75% wear and the chain will need changing soon. 1% and it needs changing now.

thats probubly what it is. i'll try changing the chain, looking at the cogs themselves there really rounded and worn and number two is slightly bent so they look like they'll be getting replaced. Could the cracking sound be comming from a worn bearing?0
