Does anyone know if all the trail at Cannock have re-opened yet such as "follow the dog" etc because i believe they had been closed?

Tried the Chase trails site but it won't let me log in!!!

  • As I have been there four or five times this year over in the Downhill section by stile cop. I think it is open all year round. Some tracks might be closed off to the public when they are doing the tracks, but mainly its always open.

FtD section 2 and part of section 12 are currently closed but diversions are in place. Phase 2 is still under construction.

Miles and miles. Follow The Dog is great but only a taste of what the Chase has to offer. After the 'new' section 8 go down the steepish section of logs and turn left at the fire road instead of right. Follow this for about 50m and you come to another fire road, turn left on to this and go all the way down the hill to a level crossing. Cross over the road here and you can make your way to The Monkey which is over by the golf course or all the way to Castle Ring. Come back via the Special Events Area - pls don't ride any of the Phase 2 sections - or even take in the Stile Cop DH if you're feeling adventurous.

No-one can tell you what The Monkey is, you have to see it for yourself!

I've not ridden it, on the account of me being a bit rubbish. Husband's ridden it though - let's just say it pushed him a bit more than any of the red routes he's ridden. ;)

The best way to experience more of the trails is to get on the Chase Trails forum, and join in with the local rides.

There's a big trail building day next Sunday (19th April) - help out, and you'll be able to see how the new route is coming along!

Plus there will be a barbecue. Delicious, delicious, meats!
