anyone else going for it? aiming for a 12 hr time but we'll see; my fastest 300 Audax was 2 hrs slower. I've got an 02.30 start which is when the fast boys go apparently
Planning on riding to / from Stockholm in the 2 days either side of the ride.

This is the first time that I have ever done anything of this magnitude....
I do not have a target time yet.... :?
Fly out on Thursday probably return on the Sunday or Monday....

I'm not doing it this year, but going back for my second try next year after doing 10hrs 8 last year - and I'm an old hack.
In my experience, and from what my mate Magnus who's done it 9 times says, there are two main elements to a good time (apart from the weather).
The first one is group riding. Get in as fast a group as you can, and you'll have a big choice as with 15,000+ riders and most of the fast groups going off at about your time and after, there will be plenty of groups to choose from. And don't be afraid if it's a bit balls out at the start - it will calm down. With groups of maybe 100 in the middle section, it can be effortless at times.
The second is how long you want to stop at the feed stations. The fast people cut their stops to a minimum, and definitely wouldn't stop for the two that have big meals available - you'll be in the queue for up to half an hour.
Have a nice one, it's a great buzz.0 -
BA flights were £120 return all in when I booked and also last time I looked although quite a trek from Motala; if you were flying Wed returning Tue I could share a hire car
Ryanair (Skavsta) is nearer if you can hold on without needing to use the loo for that long plus their bike etc handling fees are a joke now :evil:0
