Not sure if a fellow commuter is down

I read in a local paper about an accident that happend on my route week last monday where a cyclist had collided with a car and was taken to hospital, nothing fatal. Since then I have not noticed the chap I meet and greet on the way along the route, he rides a blue ribble. It may well be he is on holiday or has taken some time off work but is it coincidence? Just hoping whoever it was is OK.
