Quick drying trainer style SPDs?

I currently use Shimano MT51s for commuting/slobbing round the office/site work. Functionally they fit the bill pretty well, bar one thing - they absorb water like a sponge and once they get wet they take 2 or 3 days to dry off, even when stuffed with newspaper overnight. I actually get dryer feet by wearing my meshy race shoes in the rain. Seal skins don't help as they just soak through too when surrounded by sopping shoe.

So what similar shoe dries quickly? They need to be trainer/walking shoe style and predominately black. Oh, and capable of taking a pretty hard beating off the bike.

Thanks!

Northwave Expedition GTX shoes have a Gore Tex liner so they won't get wet through in the first place, they are also black and grey, and have a Vibram walking sole. They are great quality, you need one size larger than usual.

I have Shimanos for winter use - not sure what type but they have a neoprene seal around the ankle. These, combined with neoprene overshoes and - in extremis - sealskinz, keep my feet dry and warm. Only use the sealskinz if its really wet though.

I have just got some Spesh Taho's, they have been wet (not soaked) since I bought them, they did dry pretty quick. The meshy bit is not that close compared to others.

Why not just buy some waterproof overshoes?

A lot of the water that gets in is spray running down my legs, so I'm not convinced that "waterproof" shoes are necessarily of any benefit.Seal skins soak through/let in through the cuff in about 10 minutes.

I have a pair of the Shimano winter boots for MTBing which get used for commuting if the weather is truly, truly abysmal, but they're not the kind of thing I can work in for any period of time.

Tahoes are on my list to look at as I really get on with the fit of Spesh BG shoes.
