Interesting Guardian blog, despite terrible headline

I'd personally rather puke in my own shoes than be associated with anything labelled 'frucool', but nonetheless, this is an interesting blog, from someone who seems to know what he's talking about.
Among other things, he says that investment in cycling produces three times the economic benefit of the money invested. Very cool. Very frugal.
But not 'frucool', please.

A return of 3:1 sounds more like a road project, the ROI figures quoted for cycling normally are much higher, like 10:1.
That such a ROI can be gained for far less than the price tag of a road project is one of the econmic hooks campaigners like to use to push for funding.
Only problem is quantifying such benefits and seeing them as being worth pushing for, e.g. not much good pushing for reduced health care costs if the authority funding isn't going to ever see that as a benefit.'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0 -
He also suggests that people could get from A to B on a BSO from Arogs

Well you probably could - once - provided A is not too far from B0
