Saracen Instinct 2 @ £250 - worth a go?

The Tora on my 'Hopper is a bit poorly. I'll be getting it done under warranty, but while it's waiting for it's op I'll be bikeless.
Now I've started riding with a buddy of mine who is always goading me into doing more extreme stuff, plus I quite fancy a play-bike to go with my 'sensible' bike. Plus a backup while the other is off the road will keep me from dropping out of riding.
I was thinking of slowly building up a street/jump bike out of the £70 Brand-X frame on CRC, but I don't think I'd get anywhere near the price of the Saracen above.
So is it a decent buy at that price? The DJ-3 for that price seems quite good.
I won't be taking it very seriously and my idea of 'extreme' is probably quite tame by most standards, but I like the idea of something I can abuse and that is a bit more 'chuckable' for learning some skills on.

Kind of a cross between a jump bike and a little hardcore hardtail with all those gears, but is great value. Will weigh a bomb though.0

Yeah I'm expecting it to be quite heavy looking at the spec, the fact that it comes in 'battleship' grey is probably a subtle clue.
Looks good fun though which is pretty much my only concern, I won't be using it for any epic rides.Less internal organs, same supertwisted great taste.0 -
Worth a crack I reckon! Only alternative is a stripped down single speed rigid forked jumper for that soer of money, or one of saracens nastier offerings.
I had the same wheels on my old Raw - heavy, and bombproof! Sold them on ebay for 84 quid!0 -

Ala Commencal MaxMax for instance? Yeah they seem to have a good reputation with the people who know far more than I do. I assume it will be lighter (but then it should do with less parts) and have 'better' wheels.
I just can't help thinking the Sarcin' offers more for the money. Though I think the cable dics and double chain-ring are a bit superflous. I imagine the 2.3 Tiogas make up a lot of useless weight too.Less internal organs, same supertwisted great taste.0 -
Yep, the tyres are lardy. A lot of bike there no doubt.0
