Topeak Alien 2 for me.You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
Topeak Alien 2, you can almost build a bike from scratch with it. It's kind of overkill for most rides of course but I'd sooner have too many widgets on my multitool than one too few.Uncompromising extremist0

I'd recomend something like the topeak mini 18, it has everything you need and nothing you dont, and its small and light. The Alien 2 looks great but after a good look at my bike and my two mates machines, I couldnt find a single hex bolt or nut, so why carry all them spanners and i'm fairly sure i dont need a bottle opener to fix my ride. Save yourself a tenner and get the hexus, rx or mini 18.0

I'm gonna be controversial here and say that a lot of multitools are a bit pants.
When out - I'll use allen keys occasionally and maybe screwdrivers.
I can get a selection of those and a dinky screwdriver for less and takes up only marginally more space in toolpack - and you can use them all far easier.0 -
Topeak Hexus, and with two 4mm alan keys it's perfect for changing the wheels on inline skates.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0

+1
Each to their own obviously, but that's spot on for me too. It's amazing how many functions a small flat screwdriver has. It's also cheaper to replace.
A chain tool can be a life saver.0 -
Surely the powerlink has meant even they are less needed these days though?0

If you break a link, you'ev got to get rid of the broken parts before you can fit a powerlink- unless a plate comes right off you tend to get left with bits in the chain.Uncompromising extremist0

I only take a Park AWS-10 multi tool when riding
and carry a spare derailleur hanger
for longer rides I might take a pump and spare tube in case my tubeless tires randomly fail...Call 01372 476 969 for more information on UK\'s leading freeride park - Esher Shore www.eshershore.com0
