Commencal 6...Beast or not?

I bought a Commencal 5.5 09 frame and built it up into a sweet ride. For 6 months I have been hitting the trails very happy until I noticed the frame had cracked. A common fault Madison told me.....bizarre.
I am getting aframe replacement but fearing I may get another faulty 5.5 I am considering upgrading to the Meta 6 and going the full hog. Right less of the waffle.
Is the 6 a good option upgrade. 08 model reviewed ok but the 09 version is supposed to be improved. can anyone advice I am going to take one out at the weekend but any heads up would be mint!!!
