I got one of these last year Dainese W-Shield. The black is a bit 'special forces' but the sand/grey colour is more discrete. It's totally windproof (the mesh sections diffuse the breeze) and the cut is very good but typically Italian - go up at least one size. It works just as well with the sleeves off but although it wicks sweat very effectively, the material stains easily and needs regular washing to keep it looking good.

I currently ride with an Endura Convert - great jacket and has the removable arms you require!

Windproof or waterproof? For windproof the Gore Phantom gets my vote (although I've never actually taken the arms of myself in 2 years :p ). Specialized do a funky bright green much lighter (unlined) windproof jacket with detachable arms to, bought one a while back but I tend to stick to merino + lined windproof jacket combo so not really used it much.

I use an Endura Convert 2 and it's been great. It's lightweight, waterproof and has removable arms. Very pleased with it.

Will happily third the Endura Convert jacket, its light weight and keeps out the worst of the winter which is good and with the sleeves off makes for a great gillet for these still chilly spring mornings.
Wow great ship man. Looks like a fish, flies like a fish, steers like a cow.

Gore Phantom, use mine pretty much everytime I go biking in the cooler seasons. Paired with just a base layer, rode round llandegla at -5 and it kept me warm. Great jacket
