I ask because i've just fitted my chain tug and my chain is very tight. Can it be too tight?

too tight and it will bind and be very inefficient. It also raises the risk of damaged bearing in the hub and BB and weakens the chain.
It should be just slack enough to avoid any tight spotsRecipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.0 -
ok, excellent. i shall slacken it off slightly as it is quite tight.
i've also noticed that ive somehow bent a spike on the crank. Any recommendations for another? Can i just replace the cog or will i need a whole new crank set?BMC TM01 - FCN 0

I tend to use the middleburn hardcoat rings, but anything will work as long as it has the same bolt circle diameter and number of holes!
If you want something a bit flash, try the TA chainrings, they do a lovely polished finish!0
