Avid Juicy pads...

i've been testing a few of these aftermarket pads recently - i usually buy 4 sets and then when they are all dead i'll switch to another company. so far i have used hayes, ashima, disco brakes and superstars. all of them have been sintered as i ride in the peaks lots. the hayes and ashima pads did ok - they lasted a decent amount of time but are quite expensive. disco brakes are great value but they weren't all that on longevity, i think 1 set of pads only lasted about 2/3 rides. superstars have been the best overall so far. am on the first 2 sets of pads and have been riding them since before xmas and they cost about £20 for 4 sets so cant argue price wise. i'll probably stay with superstar from now on.0

i have been using the superstar sintered pads on juicy 3's and find they fit in just fine, i always wedge the callipers apart with a flat head screw driver 1st though, once fitted then ride around with the brake on for a few minutes and splash water on them and do it again-this is supposed to bed them in.
they work fine, the sinters seem to last forever!
hope that helps dude,Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments

Well my LBS sorted the brakes - and had to file down parts of the Disco pads AND bend out one of the "tabs" to make them fit! Got Avid sintereds for the back so will be interesting to compare.
At least they work now!
Certainly won't buy the Discos again, even if they last ages.0
