alpinestars1 1/4 headsets

I'm buying an old alpinestars but it comes with an 1/14 threaded headset, is it possible to fit a reducing headset that will enable me to fit treadless 1 1/8 forks? I'm sure when i collect the frame i'll be able to see if the head tube will accept a standard 1/18 or a 1.5 but wanted to know if anyone has experience of this.

get some 1 1/4 to 1 1/8 reducers and run a standard 1 1/8th headset.
