broken frames

Hi All, Out on the trails yesterday hit a compression over the bars, once on my feet I checked the wheel and forks all OK. Back on the bike a creaking sound made me look at the frame, down tube broken clean through and down tube bent. The bike is approx two years old and untill this misshap well looked after. Any and all thoughts would be welcome.

Hi thanks for the reply, the shop shop say three years, but will send it to manufacturer, the owners handbook quotes two years.0

Sounds like they are sorting it out, hoepfully be turned around soon.
These things do happen from time to time, might be a faulty frame.0 -
Was it the weld that failed? Handmade or machined lol...

Hi Alex, the frame is mass produced aluminium and approx 5 to 6 inches from the head which is still intact. As I took the bike back today I want to give them a chance before making the wrong comments, although they promised a call today but no contact as yet. As it turns out it has a two year warranty and 2 yrs 3 mths old.0
