Trains from Dukinfield to Edale

Which is the best train to get from Dukinfield to Edale, i was thinking of getting there by train and riding back over land, any tips on this and how long would it take to get there?.

    hi mate we will be doing it again over the next few week so i will drop you a pm so you can come with us
    but if you are going on your own you get the train from bredbury station we ride to there it takes about 10 mins from dukinfield then the train to edal takes around a hour
    then we ride down to barber booth over rushop edge then follow the trans penine trail down to chinley up around kinder reservoir then round rowarth back to roman lakes then back along the canal to dukinfield it takes us around 5-6hrs with a couple of the less fit type :lol:
