    Erm, where have I supported the police's actions? I agreed a few posts ago that the police officer's actions did appear to be 'shocking'. I just questioned what the purpose of this post was, was it just to have whinge-fest? The OP didn't ask for any advice on how to take the matter further but I could see this as the only reason for the post.

    Where did I say the cyclist should have got the identity of the officer? (I asked whether the OP did though...) I also said that it would still be fairly easy for the duty inspector to ascertain the officer's details.

    I have given what I think is sound advice in order to deal with the situation.
