road bike frame sizing

HI, as a mountain biker who is new to road biking i am a little confused with the sizing of road biking frames. I am looking to buy a new road bike soon but need to know what size i should be looking for. I am 5" 11' and 12 stone and currently ride an 18" medium size mtb. hope this helps

Hi, as a guess i would say a "Large / 56cm" frame would be about your size.
Of course it depends a lot on the relative length of your legs / body / arms, so the top tube length is usually the most important dimension.
The usual advice is to go out and try a few to see how different sizes feel.
