Raceface Evolve cranks

Recently I have attempted to remove my Raceface Evolve DH cranks to look at a creacky bottm bracket but the 8mm bolt holding the crank arm on did not move. i was wondering if anybody had any tips.

    X type?

    slacken the locking ring so that it is not clamping the extracting bolt.

    I have done that and they wont budge, i've even taken the locking ring off.

    no the lock ring needs to be in place and then undo the crank bolt and it pulls the arm off.

    Oh ok so just slightly undo the lock ring ok ill give it a go
