Hi, I have just had my Giant Defy 2.5 delivered. I was wondering if it is possible to lower the height of the head stem? There appears to be a number of rings below the steerer clamp bolt, can these be removed for it to be lowered. Its just that the hadlebars feel really high in their current position. Thanks.

Yes, undo the hex nut on the top cap, undo stem bolts, lift cap and stem off, then you can choose how high you want the stem, replace spacers above stem, retighten nuts.

When re-assembling, make sure you tension the headset by tightening the top cap before tightening the stem bolts. See the Headset Adjustment section on this page
