You can get your hands on one by becoming really, really good at cycling.0

I thought about that but decided it might be easier to splash a bit of cash :?0 -
....They look cool but some cyclists only reward is wearing Their countrys kit, don't take that away from them.0

I was reading somewhere about how they burned all the olympic skinsuits because of some MI5-style top-secret extra-terrestrial aerodynamic "technology" which they used apparently... Sounds silly to me... :?
Yes, I want one too. Who doesn't!
Anyone know what the helmets they're wearing are?0 -

I think i'll pass on that one!0 -
I know its a big etiquette thing in cycling about not wearing the "jersey" if its not been "earnt" as such... but you got to say from a marketing point of view British cycling is missing out on a big revenue stream... think how much football clubs make selling replica shirts !... ie the Beckham effect...0

Yeah, if I were in charge of marketing at BC, I would have been rolling them out ASAP after the wins at Bejing!0

... they just need to make a little change and drop the word "team" off them, keep the rest the same... Then do updates every 12months.... you have hours of prime time BBC advertising as well.... lol0

It's not the jersey I'm after. It's the tracksuit. Cav had one on when he was interviewed after the Madison. It looked v nice indeed0 -

They wont be the olympic ones - not even the athletes got to take them home.
http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/news/article/mps/uan/3794"We got them back and they were shredded as we believe the technology will hold well for 2012,” said David Brailsford.0 -
From the BBC:The suits worn by British cyclists at the Beijing Olympics have been shredded to stop rivals using their technology.
None of the Team GB cycle squad, who brought home eight gold medals, were allowed to keep the suits as a memento.
British Cycling's performance director Dave Brailsford wants information about the skin suits to remain a secret ahead of the London Games in 2012.
Brailsford said: "We got them back and they were shredded as we believe the technology will hold well for 2012."
Even the manufacture of the suits, which reduce air drag, was done under a veil of secrecy.
"Our skin suits were sent out to Japan so that the person who put them together in Japan did not know where they were from and there was no link," explained Brailsford.
"Those suits were created by British Cycling and Adidas put the labels on."
Brailsford revealed British Cycling also considered a plan to cope with the most common injury in cycling - a broken collar bone - except it involved deliberately injuring one of their riders.
"Ed Clancy (who won gold in the Olympic team pursuit) said he would not mind having his two collar bones broken.
"But then, thankfully, someone said 'what on earth are you doing?' and this madness was stopped."
That David Brailsford sounds like a right nutter! :shock:0 -
It's perfectly possibe the ones "loaned" out where copies they used for photo shoots rather than the ones used in the actual Olympics. I didn't see them, so i don't know and I'm hardly and expert on skinsuit technology.
But also I read an Chris Boardman interview in the Daily Mail (it was given to me, please don't think I noramlly read the DM) before the Olympics where they had a sketch of a weird new helmet they were going to use, which of course they didn't. I think British Cycling have become as good at "spin" and stirring up their opponents as Lance Armstrong.0
