hi, I'm just starting out and need advice. I had just bought a GT avalanche 3.0 lovely bike, and with the advice from the bike shop the Hamax plus child seat , however, upon recieving it and assembling the bike, the seat / carrier will not attach to the bike. Can anyone advise of a similar bike and seat system or at least a seat system that will work with that bike. Thanking you all in advance.

does your bike have disc brakes? I know that some bike racks (e.g., that hold child seats) do not install on bikes with disc brakes.0

If you really have your heart set on a rear mounted child seat then you would need to get one of the ones which attach to a pannier rack (if you have disc brakes then you'd need to get a rack which fits a bike with disc brakes). something like this

there are also seats which attach to the top tube - just do a google search for 'top tube child seats'
