AC tying to drop the contenders on the last hill and failing! Not steep enough? Levi looking good for overall at the mo', Dave Z, Deignan, Menchiv and Clement (!) hanging in there...

Cobo followed by Menchov - great real time update on finishers as they crossed the line. Neat.

Cobo hit them with a strong attack, also looks as though Menchov is in good form with that turn of pace from him. Contador looks cooked after working for Levi there.
  • nice finish, though such is the extent of my cynicism that i found myself wondering whether Cobo's new Schumacher-hairdo has anything to do with the new fashion for drug tests using cyclist's flowing locks.

Some great riding from Deignan though, do we have another great irish tour rider on our hands?

Fuji's first win this year, leaving Silence-Lotto as the only pro team without a single victory.

If you want to know why Bertie was working for Levi, I would suggest the reason was that final ascent.
    zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Way too much emphasis placed upon an early stage, long, flat trial.
    It has steralised the race.

Quite rare to see Stef Clement up there at a mountaintop finish. Wonder if he can win the TdF?

He has always been pretty good at medium mountain terrain, but lacks in the Alps and Pyrenees. I don't think this stage was a real test.

Unless he starts pulling out all his nails, I wouldn't be too cynical...
