Anyone have any experience of Northwave road shoes. My shimano shoes seem to be tight and i sometimes get a little cramp. The length of my shimano is perfect so i am guessing that i have slightly wide feet.I hear that northwave shoes are good for the wider foot.

I've got two pairs of Typhoon SBS shoes.
I have wide feet, and the size 44s (UK10) fit me perfectly, although I normally take a 9 in normal shoes - the 44s are the right width and seem pretty short length wise so the fit is really good.
I've had the white pair for 15months, and they suffered nearly daily abuse over that period, including some hefty crashes. The quality of the Northwaves shoes is really good, far better than some of the other brands I've used.0 -
Thanks for the fast reply.Excellent review from a real cyclist just what i wanted. Are they as comfortable as they say. They also look ok thats a bonus.Very helpful Reddgragon0

i can't necessarily claim to be a "real" cyclist, but i've had a pair of Northwave shoes for a year or so, and have found them to be comfortable, sturdy....and nice looking )0

I have a pair of Northwave MTB shoes, and they are really comfortable, then again so are my Sidi road shoes.
I would suggest getting to a shop to try some on, that is the best way to make sure they fit width wise.0 -
after reading this forum...I tend to think that a "real" cyclist covers around 300 miles a week at an average of 20mph....I can't claim to achieve that. But I do cycle0

A way to go yet then :xwinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

I just changed from Shimano to Northwave and they are considerably wider in the toebox - I actually went down half a size (which makes sense from my shoe size). There always seemed to be some space in the toes of the Shimano but these are the right length and not too narrow.I'm left handed, if that matters.0

Ive gone from Specialized BG - To northwave vertigo- they are considerably wider and more comfortable for me - they aleivated my numb foot problem - best of all they cost £55 from cyclesurgery !0
-
Can anyone suggest where Northwave Vertigo's can be bought instore or online?
Neither Cyclesurgery or any of the other big mailorder companies I have looked at have any 43's in black.0 -
I couldn't get them in black - but for £55 I couldn't really grumble - Dye them or get some overshoes !0
