i keep going for the rockhopper but then read that the 08 model had way better forks?!?!?!

i can spent 1k on something which was better and cheaper last year???

are there any othe general good alrounders out there?

When you say "All Rounder" what are you after?

A brilliant bike for 1k is the Boardman Pro.

You've also got the Genesis Altitude's and the Core ranges, both superb bikes
