I'm having a look at this for 2010 so very interested in anyone's experiences and travel tips.
There's a cource on BIkely if anyone's interested:
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Drei-Lander-Giro
It actually starts in Nauders in the north-east of that map, meaning the Stelvio pass is about half way through the ride.
In particular I'm after recommendations for:
1)A cheap hotel in Nauders
2) Cheap transfers to and from Innsbruck
3) Bike box hire somewhere near Kingston on Thames
If anyone's doing it and wants to share transfer costs, I'd be more than happy to.
I'm aiming to fly in early Saturday and out on Monday, somewhat dependent on flight costs.0 -
Any updates on this ? I'm thinking about doing it next year or 2013 maybe.0

My knees are still paying off the etape, but this is still on my list of "things to do before you die"
If anyone's done it and has any tips I'm all ears.0 -
Hi
I together with 9 others did it this year, fantastic event, scenary simply stunning plus the climb of the Stevio :P
We arrived on the Tuesday and enjoyed riding in the area !
Climbing the Stelvio was breath-taking literally but don't under-estimate the climb of the Ofenpass
The descents are so so enjoyable a mix of tight and twisty, then later on, fast and flowing
Definately worth riding, Mike Cotty's report worth a read

Hi
In case anyone fancies incorporating the Passo Stelvio into a European Sportive then I've blogged our Club trip to the Dreilander-Giro in below link
