I want to build some new wheels for my fixed - bit stumped as to what rims and hubs to use however....
I've seen some miche pista hubs that look good , about £40.00pr, anyone got any views as what rims to pair these with (clinchers)?

Velo Solo (formerly londonfixiebike) converted disc hub, so that the sprocket bolts onto the 6 bolt disc carrier. Much better than a lockring to prevent slipping cogs. Mated to Mavic open pro rims. (Or if you can afford the extra, to DT Swiss RR1.1 rims, as these are about the same weight, but are much easier to build IMHO)
I have been running a rear wheel built up this way for the last 12 months of daily commuting, all weathers, for over 3000 miles, without any problems. Have regreased the hub once. Built a matching non-disc shimano xt hub/ open pro front. They have proved extremely dependable, and im going to build another pair for my other fixed. 800g front, 995g rear, with 32 DT Swiss Competition spokes for dependability.
Of course, these wheels are for all weather work, so arent the most glamourous, but for long lasting, easily serviced, cant be beaten.0 -
Second the open pro's. Also take a look at Velocity deep V's for a bit more style - can be had in many different colours/finishes.The Maxlight: http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo17 ... CN1001.jpg0

Rigidas (Chrina or Sputnik, lighter/heavier) seem to be a decent value alternative to Mavics.d.j.

Recently fitted some to my Langster, Rigida Chrinas on Ambrosio cartridge bearing hubs. A huge improvement over stock, much smoother, more nimble and more forgiving. Can be found fairly regularly on ebay for about 100 notes/pr.
