I've just started running in the gym again to shake a bit more weight: I can't seem to lose the weight I gained over the winter, although part of me really wants to believe I gained more muscle on the legs from hammering the mtb over the winter. :P
+1 on the running, plus if you can run at lunchtime you don't have to cut out too much cycling or a couple of run commutes are not going to drastically cut your time on the saddle.Fixed, commute: Langster 08, FCN6
Road : Aravis (byercycles) Shimano 105 triple

I'm 40
I know your pain
I barely drink
I don't eat fatty foods much
I'm 5'8" and I simply daren't go on the scales
Cutting out booze and missing out on kebab and chips should do it. Check out the sat fats in food, ditto sugar, you'd be amazed what goes in to some stuff. 'Healthy' food like flapjack can be an absolute horror. Keep a food diary - write down what you eat each day and try and work out what it means in terms of calories, etc. That's quite a good discipline.
But I'm still fat and if any skinnies come on here and have a go then I'll sit on them.
It's just a hill. Get over it.0
