"A cycle lane in Newcastle, County Down, which sparked complaints over traffic problems is being removed nine months after its creation."

I'm wondering what alternatives, if anything, will be put in it's place?
Today is a good day to ride

That town is such a nightmare to get about on any form of transport, especially with the streets all being clogged up with wee boy racers in souped up pieces of crap.
It'd be even more dangerous on a bike now.
    Typical.
  • Real shame to see such backward steps, but not surprising since the car reigns in Northern Ireland. I wonder how much consultation there was with cycling bodies in the area (who are the main cycling bodies in Northern Ireland? Sustrans?) before the facility was installed..
