serial number location

I'm in the process of adding a couple of bikes to household insurance and have been asked for their serial numbers. On all my previous bikes these have been stamped under the bottom bracket but when I looked last night it isn't there on either of my road bikes (Principia rex and Bianchi 928 C2C) and a cursory look over the rest of the frame (was not well lit) didn't locate it. Any idea where I'll find it?

    I've seen them stamped on the rear drop outs in the past

    Thanks for the suggestion but afraid they don't seem to be there either. Anyone else got any ideas?

    Flip the bike over and look for the stamp under where the bottom bracket goes. Any luck?

    Doh! Sure enough it is on the inside of the rear LH dropout of the Bianchi. Tiny - needed magnifying glass, reading glasses plus powerful torch at obtuse angle to read it.
    Still can't find it on the Principia though.
