Hi all.

I'm looking for some short fingered gloves for the spring/summer. Emphasis has to be on comfort and soaking up vibration as the roads around my way can be a bit rough to say the least.

Specialized BG Gel seem to fit the bill otherthan I can see them being a bit warm with no velcro strap allow ventilation. Also at about £25, it's bordering on the excessive when I can get weight training gloves for under a fiver.
Specialized Venge S Works
Cannondale Synapse
Enigma Etape
Genesis Flyer Single Speed

Turn the corner, rub my eyes and hope the world will last...

Can't say I'd recommend anything oher than Spesh ones, not sure about the 2009 model but the 2 different types I have all have velcro at the cuff (not that I ever undo it for ventilation...). They are a bit of a rip off but they're still not really a lot of money, last a fair while and are one of your main contact points so it's generally well worth spending more there (as opposed to say £45 for assos arm warmers :p ).

Assos ones are good and for once not much more than the other brands.

Just posted this on another thread ...

My training bike has steel forks (yeah, I know I'm a Luddite) and I was finding the vibration through the bars was getting a pain on longer rides. I ended up getting some of this stuff and it's done a great job >>> http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Cinel ... 360015173/

Bit cheaper than the gel packs but as I've never used them I don't know how they'd compare.

I also got these cycling gloves with gel inserts that have helped a lot >>> http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/SixSi ... 360035096/ and they have the advantage you can take 'em on whatever bike you're using at the time.

I think these gloves are meant for MTBs but I've been more than happy with them for the last year.
