KMC chain lifespan

I'm sick of replacing worn out bits on my bikes and even more so now with the ridiculous Shimano prices. I usually use 9 speed dura ace or ultegra when they were around £20 for my nice bike but now they're about £35.
So, how do the KMC chains compare? They claim to be much less susseptible to wear, they're lighter than shimano chains and a hell of a lot cheaper! Very tempted, what do you people think?

I find KMC chains good for about 6 months each, seems reasonable to me.0

Yeah i read KMC supplied shimano. They must do something different to them to be able to advertise the things they do. Depends on use of your chains-on my winter bike i get less than 3 months out of a shimano or sram chain, on race bike i get all season out of one if only used in the dry. Just wondering how they KMC and shimano under the same conditions.0

I typically replace my KMC chains every 4-5 months (cheaper on 8 speed, admitedly) - 100% reliable during that time - no complaints. I'd certainly try a KMC if you haven't already used one - most people seem to find them adequate.0

No problems at all since I switched to KMC chains. I wouldn't be worried about using them.0
