Would you buy a stumpy

im after a new bike as the one i got is 9yrs old and feeling its age. question i would ask to you out there is would you buy a stumpjumper 09 comp, is it worth the price £1400.

    I actually thought about one when i traded my old enduro for the current one.Didn't have my size/model i wanted so i got the Enduro.I wanted the expert,but nowt wrong with the comp IMO

    I would and I did, however I got the 08 model for £1200.

    If you check out the specialized concept stores, I think they still have some 08 ones available, a colleague bought one from them last week.

    A £200 saving for a different colour could not justify getting an 09 model for me.

    i got the 09 comp and love it, best thing I've ever bought. I paid £1270 for it. very light bike.

    well i took the plunge today and put me deposit down. pick it up on Sat.

    Here's hoping for some fun :D
  • I've had mine almost a month now and I love it, it's very light great for climbing. Im well chuffed with it.

    My only issue with the 08 version is the rather low bottom bracket.

    all stumpys have a low bb i think, both of mine do (05 and 07) but y9u et used to it and the lower centre of gravity makes the bike alot more stable.

    i got the hardtail, black/red frame. this was my first bike in about 10 years, my last one was crap townsend so the stumpy was a big step up.

    Definately notice the low bottom bracket on my Stumpy FSR.

    I found the steering a little wierd on the switchbacks too. Easily sorted with a shorter stem though
