Wasn't sure whether to post this here or workshop.

Just wondered if any of the experienced cyclists here would mind helping me set my Giant comfortably?

It seems like the stem is too long but that is just a guess, could be the different shape of handlebars! I'm a lot more familiar with MTB's.

Anyone have a few spare spacers/compontents lying around we could try?

I haven't used it much at all this year which is a shame :( I've taken a pay cut at work so I can't afford a professional fitting.

I'm in Surrey, have tools at my house and a garage, and lots of tea and biccies. :D or I can come to you. You'll get a drink out of it either way.

Any help would be really appreciated. :)

    Hey there,

You could do your own fitting.

What size of frame do you have? I'm 180cm and have a 55.5cm frame. I replaced the stem with a 90mm and changed the seatpost, as the standard one sweeps back at the top.

This has corrected the stretched out position, but I'm still not 100% comfortable yet.

    Cheers

    Hi Pedro,

55.5cm rings a bell, i'm sure that's the size of mine too. I'm 182cm according to Google  so this is very useful - what were the replacements you bought?

    Thanks!

    Hey there,

    So far I have changed:

PBK Carbon Fibre Seat Post (27.2mm)
    RaceFace Cadence Handlebars
    Outland 3OneEight 90mm Stem

Check out my signature if you want to see what they look like.

The bars are oversized, narrower and have a shorter reach than the standard ones. I think the 55.5 is aimed at big guys. I should have got a size less, but what can you do, eh?

Maybe if you take your bike to a shop they'll let you try a couple of different stems. I think that would be the best place to start if your seat is already positioned correctly.

    Cheers
