I want to clean out the blue locking compound on the frame brakes bosses, I know the rear set are 10mm and the front set 8mm.
Does anyone know the pitch of the thread so I can order the correct plug taps?
Cheers...

will it all depends on the fork as they can and do vary depending on make and year.
Oh and old thread lock does not really matter.
Just use a wire brush if you are really worried."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Nah thread pitch is the same or you couldn't get blanks or posts in either 10mm or 8mm that fit every boss.
Oh and you cant get a wire brush that small to fit into the boss holes in the frame or forks.
Just need to know the pitch of the thread. This is why!0 -

Your forks will depend on the manufacturer, but the frame bosses are usually standard coarse pitch M10. Just run an ordinary M10 tap down 'em.Bluestoesonnose wrote:Oh and you cant get a wire brush that small to fit into the boss holes in the frame or forks.
Yes you can. Any decent engineer's supply shop will have a range of different wire brushes, including pipe cleaners. Failing that, a bore brush from your local gunsmith/firearms dealer will work too.0 -
Hey, bore brush for a shot gun & rifle not man enough to get the blue muck out, tried that.
I'll seak out the taps and see how it goes.

Yeah, just pop a blind tap down them, (i think thats the right one, ie the one without the taper) just cleans the threads out and then you can get the new ones in easily.0
