grips - with/without flange ?

wondering what this term means? I've seen that in the uber-pimped up way I can get the green grips to match the pedals I want but I don't know which option to get. flange/without flange.

    It refers to the extra rubber on the edge of the grip nearest your levers, more commonly seen on motocross bikes

    they can get in the way when you shifting btw :(

    look quite smart, but more suited to SS bikes.
