Changing email address - problem

I've tried to change my email address but can't - says the new one is already in use by another user. That other user is me!!! Somehow, I get the bikeradar newsletter to email address #2 while my profile shows email address #1. Not quite sure how this has happened. I want to change or delete email address #1 and just use email address #2 as my sole email address. How can I do this? It's causing problems for me as notifications to replies to my forum postings are going to email address #1, which I no longer use. So, unless I go and check my postings manually, I don't know if I've received any replies to my postings. :?
