Bringing my bike to Singapore for training rides

Hi guys,
Sorry if this is a bit off topic for this forum, but none of them seem quite right for what I'm asking. I'm heading out to Singapore for work for a month this weekend and I'm going to bring my nice shiny carbon Planet X with me to take out at the weekends. My questions are...
1) What special care should I take to make sure it comes of the plane in one piece? I have a soft bike bag, with padded pockets for the wheels, but I'm a little worried about the frame. I'll remove the pedals, but is there anything else I should do to protect it? Wrap the frame in some newspaper perhaps?
2) This one's a long shot, but anyone know of any clubs that go out at the weekend in Singapore that I could tag along with for a couple of times?
Thanks guys
Mark
