Streetview + Highlights from your commute

As it seems to be an rather awkward process to try and find ourselves on Streetvie I thought it might be fun to point out our favourite bits on our commutes!
I wondered how well it shows up gradients of hills and it does a reasonable job when you look at the brickwork of the walls such as here:
http://tinyurl.com/csxvb8
Which is just under a mile from my house! Thankfully it only lasts about 50-75 yards and is one way so you don't get lunatics coming towards you!
This is another of my favourites and I can take it in when heading into town and also on the way home if I'm feeling like a bit of a challenge:
http://tinyurl.com/cgrtdp
The hill starts a bit further north, but I wanted to post this pic as theres a nice black Evo in the frame :-)
This is another hill that heads north, good for getting the speed up and has one of those digital speed signs! The challenge is to get the sad face, meaning 30+mph!
http://tinyurl.com/cvtcdp
Have been up this one to, depending on how you feel with the climb it can sometimes be hit and miss as to wheather you want to be able to carry on moving at the lights near the point here to turn left or stop to get your breath back :-)
Here's another mean one that ramps up nastily after a steady climb for about a mile or so!
http://tinyurl.com/ddrouf
Complicated by the fact that I need to turn right at the roundabout so need to get over a few lanes and try and carry some momentum!
One last one that isn't a hill:
http://tinyurl.com/d6zg6v
See the black pillar with the blue bike sign on? That's the one that stopped me flying further onto the pavement in my accident a couple of years ago! It helpfully stopped me by ripping a big hole in the back on my left hand and whacking me in the side of the head and face........

I wish i could show the best bits - but they're all off road
However, I can show the WORST part! That stretch i mentioned that manages to knock my chain off and dent a wheel:

They're two sides of the same hill, a bugger to get up, but a blast going back down the other side
and my favourite stretch through Greenwich Park
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wlpain is temporary, the glory of beating your mates to the top of the hill lasts forever.....................

Rich - all the links just show the UK. You need to double click when on the street view to set the location properlyChunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)

Aye, once I have my new bike I think I'll go up there and photograph it, then take an accident report for that road from the last few years and go hand it in to the police and the council. Frankly, I can't see why they wouldn't send a parking warden down there - they'd pay for his salary each day with the amount of buggers in that lane.0

First one. Where the bus is is a bend, coming off a 35mph hill in a 30 zone so I'm faster than the other cars. When the traffic's light, it means that I can swing across both lanes, apex the corner perfectly and then swing back out wide, keeping my speed above 30mph.
Second. From this direction, this island is great fun. There's great visibility on the approach, so you can safely hit it at 30mph and be able to stop if something's coming. Attack from the inside lane, flick the bike left, then right, apex at the middle of the island then accelerate out to apex the exit, taking the straightest line possible. There's almost no traffic coming from the right and turning right, they generally go left or straight on into the city centre, meaning I can have good fun on the island.
Third. If the lights are green, then there's no problem, just zip through in the outside lane. If the lights are red, however, you need to be able to sprint, hard. Around the left hand bend, there's a short downhill straight section, with another lane jointing from the right, then a right turn, meaning that you have to cut across the lane which joins on in order to make the right turn, as seen here. The bus is coming from the right and going left, I'm coming from the left and going right... If you're not doing 30mph very quickly, you have no chance...
The other good bits of my commute aren't on Streetview yet. I'll be keeping an eye out for the cars.0 -

Ouch, can only just see the guy that hasn't been launched.
Most of my commute isn't on there yet and the road I use isn't available for motor traffic and for once the Google car has heeded that (found 3 violations of "No Motorvehicles except...." in Dundee alone)Do Nellyphants count?

This is the worst bit, made worse by a 42/16 SS. It comes right at the very end and there's a gradual climb all the way then it shoots up quickly and steeply.

Not my favourite part on the way into work:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 2500000001
And a crap descent to boot on the way home.
This isn't so bad to climb:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 7500000001
And is a much better descent but the wall blocks vision on approach to the circle so can't see if it is clear to barrel in at 50kDo Nellyphants count?

I take the route up Leckwith Road about 3 times a week, it's about a 1/2 mile climb, click on the down arrow a few times to see it all.

This is the alternative route up Llandough Hill, an easier climb:
