Sorry for asking same old questions as everyone else but ive narrowed my choices down to 3 bikes
Specalized rockhopper comp £685
Marin B-17 £785
Genesis core 30 £750
Any ideas which one i should go for or any others i should look at,want a good entry level mtb for trails and fitness and some ride out days
Thanks

Thanks will test ride saturday, origanally was going for rock hopper but was told forks better on other 2 will see
Thank you0 -
The Marin and Genesis are more 'Trail' hardtails (130mm travel) and the Hopper is a 100mm XC bike. If indeed you can get the Core 30 for £750, then that'd be my pick of the three.0

ok thanks found it from ukbikesdepot.com
£723 so sound even better
Thanks0 -
You better educate me whats the difference between xc and trail bikes.
Sorry for being so dim !0 -
Bit of overlap between the terms - especailly as they are marketed.
But.. xc bikes now are generally a little bit lighter, and a bit longer/steeper in the geometry. Trail bikes cn be more relaxed and upright.
If you can test them, do so! You'll get a feel for the bike and its size.0 -
Thanks for the info,in theory then the genesis should be a bit more of a comfy riding position

Only if it suits your body shape. You won't know until you ride one0
