Interestingly when I bought my bike and was torn between the girly-looking pastel coloured one and a plain black one, the man in the cycle shop said girls' bikes are stolen less often than men's for the simple reason that it's mainly boys that nick bikes and they're unlikely to go for ones they wouldn't be seen dead on. So a girly bike it was then. ...
Anyone know where I can get some kitten decals?

Mine's a stealth bike - if you can't see it you can't nick it - that and a huge Kryptonite lock which I think weighs more than the bike

    Harsh, very harsh
  • My train station bike racks are now full of shiny new commuter bikes (although now it's got a bit nippy some of them haven't moved much recently) and there seems to be a large number of hybrids, girlie coloured things and lots of handlebar mounted wicker baskets about - I think they're quite safe from being nicked

The guy who'd locked his halford special racer to itself but not to the rack on the other hand . . . .

Damn, mine's looking ever more sporty and blokey - it's a girl-bike but black with clipless pedals and about to get black rubberised bar-ends.... how should I girl it up?!

I'm going to paint my bike pink and leave an empty bottle of chardonnay in the basket.

Crochet a floral pattern bike cosy with a bobble on top?

    Or kitten decals? (From $4.95.)

She's a fake!! Not a girl at all! Not only do real girls always know how to girl anything up, they do it entirely subconsiously!

Part of me very nearly picked up the little coloured plastic spoke wotsits from Tesco yesterday. So close.

You'll be needing a bike windmill with that!
