just for re-assurance, are these compatible...
Shimano SLX Shifters - I only want a rear shifter, so i assume the RH is rear?
Shimano SLX Shadow Rear Derailleur - Take it this is 9sp?
Shimano XTR Gear Cable Set
Shimano Deore Cassette 9 Speed should be fine on my Saint Hub yea? (its 9sp). Also, whats the difference between cassettes? not too fussed about weight, just don't want it to wear uber quickly!

Dunno regardding saint hub and cassette but I don`t see why not as long as it has a standard free hub.
SLX bits are cheapest from Merlin, just bought a rear mech £31.

Difference between cassettes is mainly weight. SLX lighter as the 3 largest rings sit on an alloy carrier rather than being solid.0
