Whoever mentioned baby wipes for wiping down your bike after a commute, I thank you
Read it somewhere on here, and finally remembered to buy some while I was in the supermarket
They work a treat...on road gunk, chain oil, the works
Many thanks whoever you are/were

They are the answer to everything - but - your saddle may be a bit 'sudsy' next time you ride in the rain. Still kept my mates amused on a damp ride.0

not a very 'green' way to wipe your bike down, think of the waste material.
if done on a regular basis a sponge with a little soapy water (preferably not Wash up liquid as it is mildly corrosive, perhaps some car shampoo? then a light rinse with clean (or from your water butt).
Myself, I use nasty chemical 'muck off' and about 3000 litres from a hose I keep running in the back yard.fay ce que voudres0 -

Might have to remember this. Sounds like it could be fun for when I take a trip up to lakes in a couple of weeks. The doctor said I needed to start drinking more whiskey. Also, I’m calling myself ‘the doctor’ now0 -

Are you taking about wiping their saddles down and making them sudsy??

I'm confused,
Are you referring to cleaning the whole bike with baby wipes, or just cleaning a soiled saddle after a scary incident? (ref: tractors on country lanes, soapy saddles).FCN- 4 with Laser designator sights0 -

I think I saw CJCP recommend it once. I've found that you don't even have to push the boat out as the pack I got from Poundland does a great job! I tend to use them on the rims, but they are great for removing grease and road grime from even the tightest area - as long as you can thread them through!0

Just for wiping over the whole bike, the remove oil, grease, the lot...I don't need to clean my saddle
Start with the cleanest bits first and work your way to the rims then mechs...easy peasy
BJK I went for the upmarket unscented version from Morrisons at £1.07...I just went there for cat food0 -
Do any of you actually use baby wipes domestically?0

Gotta wonder what effect they have on a baby's ar5e if they're strong enough to degrease a chain :?“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0

I used to have a use for baby wipes, plenty of nappy changing experience here! But since moving over to washable nappies we also started using small damp hand towels (another star find at Poundland!) to clean up!
It could be looked at from the other side tho, it there tough enough to remove baby sh!t, then road grime shouldn't be an issue :-)0 -

They have a 101 (ish) domestic uses - good on spills, godsend when painting etc. etc.
Oh yes and you can use them to clean up when nappy changing as well. They clean the baby, the floor, the changing mat, the ceiling, you ..... (oh the memories, the relief I don't have to do this anymore)0
