    I bought a bottle of slime and put into my own innertube but I still got puntures and plus it adds weight your best off just sticking with a good punture repair kit
    If I only scrape a livin, at least it's living worth sraping for

    it doesn't really work, plus it can gum the valve up and stop it working

    I use these exact ones for my MTB and they have saved no end of repairs. So for me they work very well, never had a problem with the valves either. I have not bothered with the road bike though I always take spare tubes.

    I use this;

    It's lighter than slime and just as effective IMO[/url]

    A guy i work with got one of these (for his mtb) it weighed a ton and he got a puncture and it didn't help at all, of course it could be his bad luck but i wouldn't bother after his experience

    curious as to what he did when he got the puncture?

    example 1 - if he stopped and saw a thorn in the tyre pulled it out and did NOT spin the wheel then yes the tube will deflate.

    exaple 2 - if he noticed the lovley hissing sound and stopped then once again the tube will deflate.

    example 3 - if he notices something in the tyres and does NOT stop to remove it the tube will deflate.

    The slime in the tube actually moves around and needs to replenish a supply to any punctures as it reacts with the air to seal the hole. Although not mentioned, my experience with pinch punctures is the slime has always failed. Then its time to get the spare tube out.

    on MTB's for thorn etc they work rather well, on road i suspect be too heavy lumpy feeling, they also fail with pichflats aka snake bites...

    i used to use them but don't bother now.

    Actually it was a pinch, quite a nasty snake bite so there we go!
