there was a crash on the last corner Cyclingweekly said

really good start to procycling for him
didnt he beat rebelllin/cunego in his last race?
  • A fine result indeed. Maybe this new British road squad should focus on the one-day races instead? With a potential world road squad potentially having Swift, Millar, Cavendish, Cummings, Froome, Thomas etc, this might be more achievable?

Graeme Brown and a crash in the final corner? Well I never

Well done to Swift. He's taking his chances and reminds me of Cavendish, he's totally unafraid to mix it.

not saying he would have won, but brown clearly pushed swift towards chavanel and swift had to slow down but still then had the kick to come round chavanel, if brown had had taken a straight line, theres every chance swift could have done him

How I despise Graeme Brown... couldn't hold his line and admit defeat to save his own life.

I was half-joking, because Brown has a terrible reputation. He didn't cause the crash but watch the finish here:

Brown starts his sprint on the left of the road, moves over to the right, closing the door on Swift and Seb Chavanel, and then ends up heading back to the left again right at the end. He was very close to being disqualified for a sprint like that.

I wasn't implying Brown caused this particular crash, just many others. Chavanel was also all over the place ("the place" being Swift's line). More so than Brown, even. That last elbow hook really is taking it over the line. Seems the commissaires had had a nice spring day out in the red car with a sunroof and were feeling generous.

looking at the video on youtube Brown definitely veers towards riders...would like him to explain why he veered so far to the right with plenty of space in front and on his left...he's using the threat of crashing to slow the two others down. Wasn't it Tom Steels he injured quite badly last season? Given he had nobody immediately in front or to his left pushing him right, would a DQ have been fair?
