Uugh! Certainly sounds like a curse and not the usual rainbow one!
    Cancellara out of M-SR.
His season is starting to remind me of Thomas Dekker's, last year.
Hope it's not a question of numbers.

Was interesting that that link mentioned blood transfusions specifically... Was that deliberate...?

Yeah I noticed that too. Seems to have been added by the Podiumcafe writer rather than a translation from the Italian article. Wikipedia says it is "rarely" transmitted from transfusions.

I love the podium cafe logo but the site is a nightmare to get round.

Shame the curse has struck though :?
  • Herpes? Maybe getting too friendly with a podium girl?

*cracks open a can of Sid James laughter*

  • Bang goes everybody's Pro-Tour Pundit banker!

That sounds ick... And surely you couldn't catch it from your own blood?

    Big shame though.

Two of the most exciting classics riders out.

    Sucks.

    Howdy,

Just to clarify, I used wikipedia's explanation of the virus to explain how it is transmitted, not the Italian news reports. The Italian sources didn't say much of anything about what this cymtewhatsit thingy was. I think my use of "on occasion" is consistent with the Wiki comment on blood transfusions, though you may disagree. The key is that it is transmitted through contact with erm, fluids. Yuck. Also, note that it is commonly transmitted among children in day care centers.

Thanks for the linkage and happy bike racing!

    How's your Italian?

A little interview with Ballan, but since I don't speak a word of Italian, I have no idea what he says. :)
  • I'm going ot take a wild, uneducated guess that he says the classics are "beautiful" and he is "tranquilo".
