Check the full suss and hardtail stickies at the top of the Buying Advice forum:

You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

buy the best you can afford. i went hardtail but wanted full sus, glad i did now as i have a nice ride (scott scale 50) which takes me up and down and over. even up at keilder i personally find it hard to justify a full sus. the fisher is a good looking highly rated bike and the boardman is as you say highly rated. i too was getting back in the saddle and had a hard time deciding. work and small boy dictates time in the saddle but if you want to try and meet up for a ride (no 100mile gruellers) or even bounce ideas off then email me. fletch8928@hotmail.com

  • What about a Genesis Core 40 - nice british build, good componentry, exchange rate proof and upgradeable?

Look very cool in orange. 8)

  • The Cube LTD pro (£750), Cube LTD team (£850), Cube LTD race (£900) were top of my list for a new hardtail before i decided to keep my kona for a bit longer. They look great, seem to be well reviewed and have a good spec.

I really like the look of the lapierre Tecnic 700 aswell, but i'm not sure on what others think?
