tube, instant patches, pump, multitool in pockets. Drink in bottles on't bike. Money for post-ride cafe stop optional.0

On day rides, tube, Lezyne multitool including chain tool, Park instant patches, tyre lever, KMC chain link in a Scicon Phantom 230 saddle bag (really tiny), Planet-X carbon combo pump/CO2 inflator, fitted to bracket under seat tube bottle cage, CO2 cylinder cunningly hidden in the hollow axle of my FSA Meg Exo chainset. Phone (using Sportstracker), windproof jacket, money, tissues in jersey pockets.
On longer rides and tours I carry a lot more, including Topeak Alien multitool, a better pump, waterproof jacket, box of bits (gear cable inner, spoke key, proper puncture kit, spare bolts, cable ties, batteries for lights etc), D-Lock and cable. In a Carradice Barley saddle bag or a DHB bar bag (still deciding on which I prefer), or Ortlieb panniers if on multi-day tour.0 -
2 tubes, multitool, chain quick link, cable lock (deterant value only) and pump on bike. Also 1 or 2 drink bottles. In pockets, wallet with cash, house or car keys and ID. Lightweight water proof unless good weather (carried most of time), mobile phone and reading glasses.
I usually set off with all my clothing on and transfer to pockets if needed. This winter there has not been much of that.0 -
2 tubes, multitool, puncture repair kit, a Letherman tool kit, 2 water bottles, food, mobile phone and some cash.
Dont bother with rain gear...if it rains, I'll get wetWinter Bike: Specialized Allez Elite
Summer Bike: Specialized Tarmac Pro SL0 -
inner tube
tyre levers
pump
multi tool0 -
depends on distance.
minimum nothing.
up to: lock, tube, co2, pump, three multitools, spare links for chain, cash, phone, keys
that'll all go on the bike, or in a low-pro rucksac that i use.0 -
In a seatbag = 2 tubes, patch kit, multitool, 2 tyre levers, phone, a couple of quid
Pump attatched to frame and some water.
Now and again I take a cereal bar or 2.
If it looks like it might rain I carry an emergency cape in a jersey pocket.0 -
a grudge
seriously, it does wonders for your pace. Take along whatever event from the recent or distant past that really got your goat and think about it on the climbs. Makes me go like a rocket (or so it seems!)0 -
1x spare inner tube, 2x tyre levers, hand-pump, multi-tool, keys, phone, money, couple energy bars. Sometimes i take an OS map. But generally try to keep it minimal.
Food quantity varies depending on distance of course.Shazam !!0 -
All rides = in an old wide mouth drinks bottle (instead of back pockets or saddle bag) spare tube, energy gel, multitool, a couple of quid , buff.
Pump on bike
Longer rides, all of the above plus drinks bottle and a mobile in the bottle.0 -
For any distance:
In my Topeak top tube bag,
-Phone
-Key
In a small Specialized saddle bag,
-Spare inner tube
-Multitool
-Tyre levers
-Rear light.
On the bike,
-Front light
-High pressure mini pump
-Bottle of water (if travelling >15mi or in high temperatures).
For longer rides, the above, plus:
-Wallet
-Torn out and folded page of large scale road map
-Spare batteries0 -
On the bike;
pump, tyre levers, 3 tubes, folding tyre, Allen keys, screwdrivers, bb tools, headset spanners, crown race remover, spare wheel rim strapped to the front wheel.
In the trailer;
Workstand, wheel truing jig, electric drill, inspection lamp, welder, portable generator, first aid kit.
Of course on long rides I do take a bit more.0 -
I now never carry stuff on bike or in rucksack, used to always wear camel back in tiny kimmsac on back, but only fill jersey pockets now... much better I think.
MTB or Road bike:- 1 or 2 bottles on bike; plus in jersey pockets:- 2 tubes, 2 tyre levers, mini pump, SRAM chain link, multi-tool. couple of mars bars or gels type things, little fleece balaclava,
Depending on weather, thin thermal top / fleece gloves / if not already wearing them -arm warmers. Mobilephone + a note (tenner or twenty) in little plastic bag. Couple of zip-ties up under saddle.
All feels fine in jersey pockets.
If with mates, we split pumps/ multitools etc... to avoid doubling up.0 -
I have the spesh under saddle bag with a tube, 2 CO2 canisters, 2 tyre levers, Allen key, patches and cash. I also put some ID like a business card in there.
0-2 water bottles depending on the run.
Rear left pocket is the ipod. Middle is the house keys. The right pocket has my phone.
Lights go on if there's any risk of returning late.0 -
