Hello from a newbie living in Bolton, but spending half my life in Burnley working
Now not going into detail but im currently post op and looking to get my fitness levels back up again and start back on the bike again, as ever since i bought a motorbike, i've become a bit of a lazy arse.
Used to really big into dirt jumping back when i was a school boy and had a Kona Stuff with lots of fancy stuff at the time, till i broke it and never got round to fixing the broken bits so it got left for a few years. The original plan was to fix it up with modern stuff and get back out there, however it was stolen.

But anyways enough of the backround ranting and straight to the point of posting, now as im looking at getting back into the scene, im looking for a bike. Initially im looking to spend no more than £300, however i could be tempted to push the limit up to £600/700. Now i was into dirt jumping mainly when i was a wee one, but i also did alot of exploring of random trails round Rivington, so now that im a bit older im not really into throwing myself off drops and jumps so was wondering whats the best specced bike i can buy for £350 initially and also if poss the £600/700 price ranges.

Cheers

Marc

Sorry, didn't state my intentions at the end, mainly trail riding.

The GT is a pretty nice looking one, probably go with something like then :) also as i'll be spending £400 to start with, will this bike be worth upgrading when i get more experience, or would i be better, when i can afford it buying a new bling bling one?

Also onem ore question in regard to gear, whats the best style of gear when riding bikes like these? Baggy clothing or full on armoured gear?

Can you tell its been a while  i know image isn't everything, but i dont really want to be labeled along with the lycra clad, shave leg brigade

Also Whytepeak whereabouts in Manchester do you reside, once i get a new bike, it'd be nice to meet up with locals and socialise and go for a ride etc.
